Frequently Asked Questions
What is a lithium starting battery designed to do?
A lithium starting battery is designed to deliver the high burst of current required to start an engine or motor. It is optimized differently from a battery designed primarily for long-duration deep cycling.
How do I know if this battery will start my engine?
Compare the battery's cranking specifications with the minimum requirements provided by your engine manufacturer. Voltage, cranking output, physical dimensions and terminal orientation should all be confirmed before purchase.
Can I use a starting lithium battery as a deep-cycle battery?
Starting batteries are primarily designed for engine starting. If you also need significant capacity for electronics, trolling motors or other continuous loads, a dual-purpose or deep-cycle model may be more appropriate.
Can it power my fish finders and electronics?
Some starting batteries can support auxiliary electronics, but the amount of available runtime depends on the battery's capacity and the combined load of your equipment. For high electronics demand, consider a dual-purpose battery.
Can I use my existing charger?
Possibly, depending on the charger. Confirm that its charging voltage and profile are compatible with the requirements of your Pro-Guide lithium battery.
